The festival season is upon us and marketplaces Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Shopclues, eBay have been tirelessly preparing for it. Merchant loans, fulfilment centres, boot camps, you name it! In fact, Flipkart recently spread festive cheer in Kerala! The state government allowed Flipkart and other marketplaces to transport heavy goods into the state. And etailer took the opportunity to tie up with BPL to sell appliances like refrigerators, TVs and washing machines during Onam.
But the online marketplace is just getting started. Flipkart has now emailed its online sellers asking them to make all MRP and FSP (Flipkart Selling Price) changes before September 17th, 2016.

Flipkart asks sellers to maintain product MRP until further notice

The email read, “…changes in MRP lead to loss of customer loyalty for your products. At Flipkart, we take the utmost care to ensure that our customers always trust you as a seller.
Therefore, to ensure customer trust in our sellers, we will not be allowing any MRP or FSP (Flipkart Selling Price) changes after September 17, 2016, 12:01 am till the next few weeks. If you change the FSP for any product that is opted in to promotions, you will be automatically opted out of all promotions for the festive season…”
The email also requests sellers to make necessary changes to their product listings at the earliest. This will allow them to correct the MRP or change it if required. At the same time, sellers have been informed that increase in MRP without proof of the MRP change will call for listing deactivation.
The etailer states in its email notification, it aims at building customer trust this festive season. Ethical business conduct on the part of the online seller will help them achieve the same along with customer loyalty.
