Kraftly, launched in 2015, is known for its niche products supplied from small sellers, artisans and small scale manufacturers across the country. The purpose behind this marketplace is to encourage small-scale sellers to sell online, with limited investment.
The etailer tied up with the Ministry of Textiles in 2016, to empower and promote Indian handlooms. Kraftly has now initiated a new venture called MySite to assist smaller vendors further.

What is MySite?

MySite is a micro website that offers sellers and SMBs the opportunity to build and develop their brands online through their own website, revealed the company. This venture is designed, integrated and supported by Kraftly. Small scale sellers can use it to run their own feature-rich websites with a single click through the existing products on Kraftly. The company feels this will help sellers come up in the industry through:
  • Higher online traffic
  • Creation of new brand identity
  • Higher sales
The CEO and co-founder of Kraftly, Saajil Goel said, “With the increasing demand for online retail, a large no. of small-scale sellers and homepreneurs are joining B2C or a C2C e-commerce platforms to sell their unique creations. However, even though these sellers establish a customer base through these platforms, they often get overshadowed and fail to create an identity for themselves. We are launching Kraftly MySite for such entrepreneurs.”
Goel disclosed that this plan will not only increase small seller sales but strengthen brand recall value too. The website created for sellers will be linked to the Kraftly ecommerce platform which will back them and their needs for marketing and logistics expertise.

Potential of small sellers

According to a recent report by Zinnov, abound two million homemakers conducted business activities resulting in $9 billion in 2016. These sellers used social media sites to sell their products online. This indicated that they lacked the bandwidth to create personal sites for their businesses.
Kraftly will be offering sellers technology and expertise, securing transactions via its proprietary checkout gateway with a 35% commission rate.
Goel also said, “This is where we differ from other C2C sites. We also provide logistical support to the sellers.”
He also added that the seller enablement process is not complete with the availability of facilities like, listing, discovery, payments and logistics.
The company hopes to receive a positive response from its active community of small sellers, that includes, homepreneur, womenpreneurs and other small sellers looking to go digital with their businesses. From its current 70,000 online sellers, Kraftly plans to register a total of 2 lakh online sellers by the end of 2017. With its 100% growth in seller registration in the last two months this shouldn’t be a difficult task. Also, the addition of MySite will make Kraftly a more appealing platform for small vendors.
